Your feelings are a superpower online. Before you even think about the rules, your body often notices when something is off — a little flip in your tummy, a rush of excitement, or a wish to hurry. Cyber Feelings is about noticing those signals and knowing what they mean.

What is a Cyber Feeling? It's the feeling you get in a digital moment — playing a game, reading a message, or seeing a pop-up. Feelings aren't facts, but they are signals. They're your brain waving a little flag to say, "Hey, pay attention to this."

The three colors. A simple way to name any online moment:

  • 🟢 Green: calm and clear. This feels fine — keep going.
  • 🟡 Yellow: unsure, rushed, or a little weird. Slow down and check.
  • 🔴 Red: scary, pushy, or too good to be true. Stop and tell a grown-up.

Why it matters. When you can name the color, you know what to do next. Green means go. Yellow means pause and ask a question. Red means stop — and stopping isn't being scared, it's being smart.

Feelings are signals, not facts. A yellow feeling doesn't always mean something is bad — it means "look closer." A red feeling doesn't mean you did anything wrong — it means "get some help." The feeling is just pointing you toward a safe choice.

Practice it. The best way to learn this is to feel it. Try the Cyber Feelings activity to sort real moments into green, yellow, and red — or print the Feelings Card Deck to play together.

Remember: your feelings are on your team. Notice the color, name it out loud, and let it guide your next move. Be curious, not careless!

What to remember

  • 🟢 green = keep going, 🟡 yellow = slow down, 🔴 red = stop and tell someone.
  • Naming the color tells you what to do next.
  • A red feeling isn't being scared — it's being smart.

Explain it back

You understand something best when you can teach it. Finish these out loud — to a friend, a grown-up, a little brother or sister, or even the mirror:

  • A Cyber Feeling is…
  • A yellow feeling is telling me to…
  • Feelings are signals, not facts, because…
