Your feelings are a signal online. Green means keep going, yellow means slow down, and red means stop and tell someone.
Part of the Cyber Feelings path · Step 1 of 6
Your feelings are a superpower online. Before you even think about the rules, your body often notices when something is off — a little flip in your tummy, a rush of excitement, or a wish to hurry. Cyber Feelings is about noticing those signals and knowing what they mean.
What is a Cyber Feeling? It's the feeling you get in a digital moment — playing a game, reading a message, or seeing a pop-up. Feelings aren't facts, but they are signals. They're your brain waving a little flag to say, "Hey, pay attention to this."
The three colors. A simple way to name any online moment:
Why it matters. When you can name the color, you know what to do next. Green means go. Yellow means pause and ask a question. Red means stop — and stopping isn't being scared, it's being smart.
Feelings are signals, not facts. A yellow feeling doesn't always mean something is bad — it means "look closer." A red feeling doesn't mean you did anything wrong — it means "get some help." The feeling is just pointing you toward a safe choice.
Practice it. The best way to learn this is to feel it. Try the Cyber Feelings activity to sort real moments into green, yellow, and red — or print the Feelings Card Deck to play together.
Remember: your feelings are on your team. Notice the color, name it out loud, and let it guide your next move. Be curious, not careless!
You understand something best when you can teach it. Finish these out loud — to a friend, a grown-up, a little brother or sister, or even the mirror:
