🔒 Our promise
The short version: we don't collect personal information, we don't track you, and there are no ads. Here's exactly how that works.
By using the lessons, games, and labs, you give us no personal information at all. The site is built as plain static pages, so there is no login, no profile, and no automatic collection of names, emails, ages, or locations.
Some features — the Cyber Ready Roadmap check-marks, Mission badges, and Passport stamps — remember your progress so it's there when you come back. This is stored using your browser's local storage, which stays on your own device. We never see it, and it is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data erases it completely.
The only way to send us anything is if you choose to fill in the optional Suggest an Idea / Report a Fix form. If you submit it, what you type is delivered to us by email through a form service (Formspree) so we can read your idea. This form is meant for grown-ups — please don't include personal or private information in it. A topic idea is all we need.
Robot Explains is made for kids, so we've designed it to be used without giving any personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There are no accounts and no automatic data collection, which keeps the site simple and safe for classroom and family use.
The site is served as static files through Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront) over a secure (HTTPS) connection. As with any website, the host may process standard technical request data (such as an IP address) to deliver and protect the pages. We do not use this to build profiles or identify individuals.
We don't use cookies to track you or to advertise. The site uses your browser's local storage (described above) to remember your progress on your own device.
If you're a parent, teacher, or school reviewer and have a question about privacy, please reach out through the contact form. See also our accessibility statement.
