ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and Copilot are all AI helpers, but they're not exactly the same.

What are they? They are AI assistants you can chat with on a computer or phone. You ask questions, and they try to help.

What can they all do? They can answer questions, explain ideas, help write, summarize, brainstorm, and help with coding. They all do lots of talking and helping.

Who makes them? ChatGPT is made by OpenAI, Claude by Anthropic, Grok by xAI, and Copilot by Microsoft. Same category of tool, different companies.

Are they all the same? Nope! They're the same kind of tool, but not the exact same product. They can have different personalities, different rules, different tools, and different strengths.

What are some differences? ChatGPT is a great all-around helper for chatting, learning, and creative tasks. Claude often feels careful and thoughtful and is popular for writing and explaining. Grok is an AI helper that can answer questions and often aims for a more playful style. Copilot is Microsoft's AI helper, woven into Microsoft apps and work tools.

A kid example. Ask any of them, "Help me learn about volcanoes!" and each will explain in its own way, they may say it a little differently, but all are helping.

Remember: ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and Copilot are all AI assistants. They're similar but not identical, they come from different companies, and they may answer differently. Think of them like different helper robots!

For grown-ups

ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), and Copilot (Microsoft) are all large-language-model assistants. They overlap heavily — answering questions, writing, summarizing, coding help — but differ in personality, guardrails, available tools, and the company behind them. None is universally 'best'; people often pick by task and feel. For kids the useful frame is: same category of tool, different helper robots made by different companies.
